Being onboard to Fiji out of LAX, followed by another plane ride to New Zealand, never would we have guessed what courageous decision that was. The first month lived on a farm bought a Toyota Hiace and left on road seeing what the world has to offer . Made our way from Auckland down South through the middle passing Waitomo Caves then a quick trip to Wellington. Wellington to Picton via ferry ride over the Cook Strait. Nelson, West Coast wwooffing time in Franz Josef for 5 weeks. Traveled south towards Queenstown looking for jobs, whilst in Wanaka interviewed for jobs for Cardrona Ski Resort, nailed the interview together. Explored Queenstown back to Franz Josef then work began Mid May to Mid November lived in Wanaka and worked at Cardrona Ski Resort, moved into our first shared flat. Traveled the bottom of the South Island back to Wanaka. Took to the internet in search of Cherry picking jobs, then in search for any job. Skyped interviewed for Chef job for Jack’s Raw Bar at Cloudy Bay Vineyard, both of us got a job there. Learned about wine while we lived at Copper Beech Backpackers in Blenheim from November to March. Flew to Melbourne for Formula 1 met up with a cousin. Saved money and bought a Mitsubishi Express drove to Darwin via Adelaide, Uluru, Alice Springs and landed in Darwin end of April lived at Mindil Beach for a couple weeks. Got jobs together at Char Restaurant later both of us getting second jobs at cafés. Stopped working middle of September and drove to Kununnarra Western Australia back to Darwin flew to Bali, Indonesia for 3 weeks. Darwin for a week then Daily Waters October 22 via the Savannah Way route to Cairns then Daintree Tropical Rainforest towards Cape York stopping 300 Ks at Chili Beach to learn the set up of our Food Wheel Truck Photosynthesize. Back down to Cairns 3 days out in the Coral Sea getting our Advance Level in Scuba Diving along the Great Barrier Reef. And the journey continued down the East Coast making Tacos with our first real set up on Fraser Island then a stop over in Brisbane the last week of November making new family. Also bought a ticket on the Spirit of Tasmania ferry over the Bass Strait to Tasmania December 17, that gave us 3 weeks to drive down to Melbourne along the coast from Brisbane with stops in places like Byron Bay, Nimbin, Nambucca Heads, Manly Beach, Sydney. In Sydney met up with sister Audrey and picked up cousin Andy continuing towards Melbourne through Canberra, back towards the coast and making it to Melbourne and cooked tacos near where we lived 8 months ago. Caught the ferry met Markus a chef who connected us to Josef Chromy Winery, explored the West Coast of Tasmania making it Launceston for an interview landed the job. Worked a few days left to meet friends for Christmas and explore the East Coast and making it to Falls Festival there made new family, drove Monday morning January 2 from Hobart to work in Launceston a 2 hour drive for 8 am work. Lived at a campsite for a few weeks while working at the Winery, before now moving in an old sheep sheering shed converted to a cottage on a farm in the Nile, Evandale. After Borneo will be a getaway trip for 3 weeks after our visa expires end of March, to come back and explore the West Coast of Australia then maybe Tran Siberian Train Ride.
